Re: who's on tonight?! need help with petcock

it was the float bowl. the little rubber seal failed (from age I guess) and the float bowl was full of gas, making it a sink bowl, and not doing it's job regulating gas.

Re: who's on tonight?! need help with petcock

ok im figuring its the carb or something. one line allows fuel, the other controls pressure so gas doesnt go dumping into the carb (correct?). something is wrong with one or the other. my guess is the carb, since both lines are correctly connected and tight. I cleaned the carb so maybe I knocked ...

Re: Spree 44mm bore kits?

I drilled holes in the side of the airbox not the top since I didnt check here before I got the drill out... so we will see how that goes, two 1inch holes on the back side and belt side of the airbox, right near the inlet. I am going to find a simple way to make sure the air is filtered when it goes ...

Spree airbox question & drilling

so im putting the 57cc kit on the spree. instructions say to drill a few 1 inch holes in the box. Ive seen a few people say do it on the opposite side of the carb, true? how many holes? I'd like ''A few'' to be more precise, what's worked best for people?

Also, when I first took the airbox off to ...

Re: Big Bore Woes-Seizure before it even started

slightly off topic but out of curiosity, did you have to upjet the carb or anything for the big bore kit, or could you just tune it the way it was? im trying to see if you need anything else besides the parts that come with the kit itself.

also, slightly more on topic, can you not kick start it? or ...

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

there is oil in the tank, I assume the light indicator is simply stuck.

I am going to replace the piston and cylinder and gaskets and rings...not much of a choice really. and dont really need a kit but if thats all that is available I might go that route. an oem site i know charges almost 200 ...

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

thanks for the help and suggestions.

update:

I rebuilt the top end. a ring snapped. I got a ring kit from the honda house and installed it. the piston itself is pretty worn, lots of vertical streaking you can feel with your fingers, and the cylinder was pretty dirty, so im assuming its going to ...

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

ok

so

this is very easy to explain.

THE ENGINE IS SEIZED
THE BIKE RAN, THEN SEIZED
THE BIKE DOES NOT RUN
THIS HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER IT RAN 6 MILES DOWN THE ROAD
I cannot emphasize this any more

therefore, I assume a top end rebuild is in order
in addition and for kicks, I will clean the carb ...
