Got an O-ring today. put in on, fit great....but somehow the gas is still getting up the threads, and dripping out of the tank...

Not to mention its still not idling worth a crap...

I'm very frustrated. Thinking about taking the carb off again and cleaning it again.

The crazy thing is, i dont think i have ever pulled the petcock valve off..so where the heck did the 0-ring go?

My other thought, is...I had the teflon tape in my toolbag...but could it come off and move into the fuel line right? I was hesitant about that...

I'll check the store, and take some ...

Alright so crisis averted...i found the clip to seal the gas tank hanging on some wires on the other side of the gas tank. Put it back on.... :happy:

OK, So got new gas and oil in it and charged the battery. Pulled the gas line out of the carb to test the Petcock. Fired it up...and nothing. I ...

Ok so i installed the fuel filter, new fuel lines, vacuum lines,oil lines and clamps.

Peaked inside of the gas tank, doesnt look bad at all.

Why Seafoam instead of Lucas?

However my new problem is i couldnt figure out how to reattach the Brass colored cap, that is holding the fuel gage float ...

I'm back to it today, cleaning the carb, charging the battery, replacing the fuel lines.

I bought an inline fuel filter, and some lucas fuel system cleaner...

Now, i'm going to grab some new GN-2 2 stroke/injector oil @ a local honda dealership. Drain out the oil tank and refill. Comments about ...

have you tried to go to the tech. articals i've mentioned on this site? look up "how to install a kickstart on a '85 spree". it will show you som great pictires of what the gears should look like when you go to apply the cover to the scoot. its hard to tell but the picture you posted seems like ...

Alright so took the Bindix out, lubed it up and cleaned it off. It looked fine,teeth were solid, sharp and not worn. It spun just as you said Mookie. Had to take off what im assuming was the Flywheel to get it out.

Cleaned up the case cover with break cleaner and put it back on.

the bendix is the little gear that is just in front of the drive pulley(front) behind the belt cover,it is attached to the starter,when botton is pushed the starter locks in the bendix and spins the motor. its loose(supposed to be) in side there so if you need to take it out go for it. yes you are ...

Alright, i bought an 85 Honda Spree 5 years ago, with a rebuilt engine. No cracks in the panels, in real good condition. Kept up on minor maintenance and drove it my Sr. Year of HS.
