Looking at 88 Elite this week
Hello all,
I am taking a look at a non-running elite this Friday which apparently turns over and that's about it. Any suggestions as to what I should pay attention to would be great?. I have fixed up two sprees thus far but never an elite 50 so we ll see. Hoping to get it for $100.

Drive Belt clarification
Hello All,
After doing endless searches on the forum for a correct aftermarket drive belt for a spree I just want to ask if putting an ax 24 drive belt is going to be a good bet since it is 26 inches long and is a bit longer than the stock. I am not interested in the pulley mod at this time. Or do ...

Re: Spree Tires Help
Would most 2.75 size tires then fit? I heard there could be some interference with framework. Thx

Spree Tires Help
Hi All,
I have been looking on the forum to get some info on the tire brand, sizes etc for my 85-86 sprees. I just wanted some suggestion as to what you chose for your tire and where you got it from. I am looking to buy online. I need a tire that fits without mods but would like to have some ...

Re: Contemplating some upgrades...
Thanks a lot. Great to hear that they come with instructions. I ll look into gears as well. Does the stock carb work okay with the bigger bore?

Contemplating some upgrades...
Hello All,
I have been on this forum for about a year now. Got two sprees, 85 and 86. Looking to do some upgrades on one of them. My 86 runs quite well but there is an air leak somewhere in my intake or carb system. My screw on the carb has to be in all the way for the thing to run without stalling ...

Re: Heavy vibration under acceleration/deceleration
So here is the update:
- exhaust and kickstand clear well and the stuttering/vibration definitely is coming from the drive train.
- Flywheel and the wheel behind it are all well. No signs of wear and tear.
- Belt well within wear limit and looks good
- I took off the clutch and the inner wheel is ...

Heavy vibration under acceleration/deceleration
Hi All!
So I couldn't get enough of my first spree that I got back in January so I had to pick up another one (this one in MUCH) better shape. Under 600 original miles, white, perfect body, even came with some honda saddlebags, basket and windshied. The problem I am having with it this heavy ...

Re: Getting it to start: Part 2
Thanks for advice,
I am going to look at the carb mount issue sometime this week. Good to know of the potential mishaps that could happen. As far as engine getting too much air, I had this issue before this last round of carb removal so I am not sure if it is the mount. I will look up the forums ...

Re: Getting it to start: Part 2
What a busy day. I did get the spree to start this morning, mainly by draining the carb with the drain screw. It start fine after that, but with a fully charged battery. I went for a little cruise only to find spree stalling after about 5 mins into the ride. It would start and idle fine, however as ...

Re: Getting it to start: Part 2
Good and bad update!
Good news is that I finally got the spree to run following another carb clean. It started no problem with the electric start. A lot of hesitation though and revs going up then eventually stalling. After I ran it more and more, the stalling happened less and less. Finally took it ...

Getting it to start: Part 2
Hey there,
So following yet another carb clean I ALMOST got the spree to start. This time, it fires up ( I hear the engine running at very very very low rpm ) and then it dies...drained the battery trying to start it. Carb is full of fuel so i guess supply is not the issue. Spark plug was wet ...

At least the horn works!
Hey spree fans!
I posted a few weeks ago when I first got my spree and was amazed at the great condition that it was in. Since then I drained the oil and replaced, drained gas and replaced, took carb off and gave it a good clean, got a new battery, spark plug. Having done all of that in the last ...
