then a larger jet than 100 may certainly be necessary... just base it off of the plug chops

Re: AF05E Exhaust List - Aero and Elite 87-93 engines
Unfortunately, living in an apt, I don't really have access to a welder. Otherwise, I'd have it made by now, I love fabrication and am not to bad in a machine shop/behind a tig

Re: AF05E Exhaust List - Aero and Elite 87-93 engines
Is the mounting flange and exhaust port location similar enough between the AF05E and the NQ50? There are very few spree-specific parts out there

Re: It's alive! My 48mm taz kit roars to life.
Well, one big question that I dont hear being asked is what is the port timing, and how is that different than the 50mm bbk that the jetting is being based off of, and what are the exhausts like on both of these? The scavenging efficiency is very dependent on both of these, and that'll affect how ...

Spree engine top-end on elite bottom & trans
Is it possible to put the top end of a spree engine (jug, head, piston, carb, exhaust etc) on an elite SE50 bottom end to get the variator & CVT? Is the crank different between NQ50's and SE50's? Can the simple belt-drive be replaced with a variator?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 85 Aero Blinker problem-on when moving, stops when slow down
check all the battery and charging system connections for corrosion too; this will limit the amount that the battery is able to charge from the alternator, and the voltage that it provides.

Re: Drilling Holes in Air Intake
the spree I'm working on wouldn't run correctly at WOT without the intake cover on; even with the filter in place. I don't know if it was going too lean, or if the vacuum-actuated petcock was closing when the intake got too close to atmospheric (leaning towards the latter), but it definitely caused ...

Re: '87 Spree (NQ50) won't stay at full throttle
I still have the stock oil tank and pump, and have no reason to believe that the previous owner used premix as well as the oil pump since one of his selling points was that you didn't need to premix. I'm still on the same tank of gas tho, since I am in Michigan, and its not exactly scooter-friendly ...

Re: '87 Spree (NQ50) won't stay at full throttle
Dumb, dumb, dumb reason for it... It wasn't running correctly because I had left the airbox cover off. The filter was still there and I left the cover off to remind myself to clean the filter, but it was the cover causing the problem apparently. I dont know whether it was because the manifold ...

Re: '87 Spree (NQ50) won't stay at full throttle
try adjusting the jet screw.
when i first got mine, i had it too rich and it was basically flooding the engine at WOT.
i found a previous thread about it on here when it was happening to me that said the same thing.
What do you mean by the jet screw? The small flat-head screw right above the ...

Re: '87 Spree (NQ50) won't stay at full throttle
The air filter seems like its in good shape; still foam-y and pliable, and it didnt seem very dirty.
I didn't see any sort of fuel filter, and haven't checked the strainer since I havent drained or removed the tank (but it looks remarkably rust-free, in contrast to my '73 CL350).
In retrospect, I ...

'87 Spree (NQ50) won't stay at full throttle
I just picked up an '87 Spree for my gf to ride to class and locally, and have gotten it to start and idle reliably, but there's still an odd issue. Warm or cold, I can go to full throttle and it responds pretty cleanly and gets to the point where the engine speed sounds like its stopped climbing ...
