Re: need a good website to get a battery...

My dear old dad is a wise old bird and he was fond of saying "You can buy the $40 pair of shoes twice, or buy the $80 dollar pair once -- your feet will thank you for making the right choice." My experience is that you can buy the off-brand Chinese low price battery twice, or the Yuasa Japanese ...

Re: base gasket on 94 elite s

B. Mc.,
Do a search. Wheelman has several posts on best way to accomplish this. Whatever you do, DO NOT scratch or gouge the case  , this will result in a poor seal condition. Take your time, young man.

Re: Funky Electrical Issue

Thanks a million for the detailed asnswer Mouse. Upon further investigation, I opened up the tail lamp assembly to discover that the green ground wire was stretched and violently pulled apart from it's male connector blade. I went ahead and swapped in the replacement assembly that I had and ...

Funky Electrical Issue

So the tail / stop lamp on my '94 Elite doesn't work. When I plug in a spare tail lamp assembly, it lights right up as soon as the key is turned on -- but now the electric starter will not work. Plug the original tail lamp back in, the starter works perfectly, but no lights. Hopefully some one of ...

Polini 72cc BBK -- worth repairing?

Bought a parts bike last week and received two Polini 72cc BBK's along with other spare parts. It's obvious that both pistons and cylinder walls have been deeply scratched and will not hold compression. Is it worth machining these? I did not see any oversized Polini pistons at Daywot or anywhere ...

Anyone ever hear of an exhaust for AF16 Dio called "ZX"?

Have a chance to pick up a non-running Elite with an aftermarket exhaust badged as "ZX". It has a custom expansion chamber and then a silencer that folds back on top of the chamber. Anybody have any experience or opinion on this exhaust?

Re: Help with 28mm OKO Throttle Cable Please

Perfect explanation!! Thanks a million. And yes, I did think the exact same thing -- what type of engineering is this that allows the throttle cable to come undone every third time you pull it? This has been a huge help. Much appreciated.

Help with 28mm OKO Throttle Cable Please

Installed a brand new 28mm OKO carb today, CT manifold and Korso air filter. Installed new throttle cable and routed it correctly. Hooked the end of the cable in to the carb throttle body but can't seem to make it stay attached. Scooter will start and idle fine, can pull some throttle to rev on the ...

What exactly is a "soft sieze"?

Running down a busy road in town this evening, approx 40 mph for 5 straight minutes. Approached intersection for LH turn and scooter quit running. Puilled it over and let it cool off for 10 minutes. Fired back up and limped it home >10 mph. I have 200+ miles on a Taz 51mm bbk, V-8 pipe, stock carb ...

Re: 98 elite 50 need help

I could use the gray plastic around the speedometer and the (hopefully) black piece of plastic around the headlamp. If in good shape, I could also use all of the front plastics. Let me know. (812) 779-6841.
