Re: Running but still lean...w/reward to whoever diagnoses it
i dont get it, that scoot i sold you had the variator restrictor plate removed, an 82 main jet, the hole punched in the air box, and the PO had drilled 3 holes into the side of the exhaust and it did 35... seems like you should be going a lot faster.

well, my elite 50s took a turn for the worst as it smashed into the ground and slid down to road tonight. my brother was trying his hand a wheelie when he lost control and ate s***. needless to say, i am not happy about this. the previous owner had crashed it before, but not like this. Somehow my ...

Re: engine chatter above 25mph
I'm so glad I am not the only one with this issue. I'll have to start running premix as well. IT sounds very much like added vibration in the 25-35 mph range though my scooter only tops out at 33 or 34 on the flats. It felt/sounded like it was coming from the clutch area though.

engine chatter above 25mph
The scooter is on the fritz. first off, I'll tell you what I'm working with. 2001 Honda Elite S. It haas been derestricted at the muffler, and the clutch, second air hole punched out, 82 Main Jet, oil zipptied open.. all of the sudden it decides that when it hits 25mph it will chatter, almost like ...

also, the main jet on a stock s is 68. stock main jet on an sr is 78.. i'm running an 82 which should be more than enough, no?

elite s/r questions carb tuning.
alllright, so i've got an 01 elite s, which i just took the restriction out of the exhaust and put in an 82 jet and punched out the second airbox hole. i have a ton more get up and go and it tops out right around 31 mph which is what i expected considering i still have the clutch restrictor plate on ...

Re: toggle switch ignition switch
alright, update here. I got a battery hooked it up and all was well. Sort of anyway. I wired up a keyed ignition to the red and black wires. (Key on, electric start works, key off electric start doesn't work. Awesome. however, I have since learned that a "universal ignition switch" from Autozone wil ...
