No pics since I don't have a camera.
Today I found one on ebay that pretty much looks like mine - deep, pitted rust, no big flakes.
What'ja think?

Rusty gas gauge sending unit
Got a 1984 Aero 50. I re-coated the interior of the gas tank, has new gas line, in-line filter (no stock filter), and rebuilt carb.
The gas sending unit (in the tank) tests OK, but is SUPER rusty. I ran the scoot all last summer without the sending unit for this reason (never did run out of gas ...

Re: Break in time
Cool, thanks for your replies.
Went full throttle several times today - kinda feels/sounds like a chain saw with a stuck, open throttle, but it'll sure go - I can feel the additional power with the higher revs.
I sure appreciate the advice.

Break in time
I've got about 125 careful, partial throttle miles on my '84 Aero 50, with new piston rings and honed cylinder.
Is this thing broken in yet?
Thanks

Bad By-starter?
My '84 Aero 50 (NB50M).
Sometimes will start, sometimes only after LOTS of cranking, sometimes starts and briefly runs then dies and won't start. Once running and warmed up, it runs great and can be shut down and restarted with no problem.

Re: Neoprene rubber is gas safe
Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I was REALLY tempted to make washers out of that tire tube material, but I did find that this type of rubber will probably not last if in contact with gasoline. There are several types of rubber that are safe for gasoline - like the previous poster, I found that ...

Honda Aero repair
Hi everyone. First time poster, looking for some tech advice.
I've got a 1984 Honda Aero 50 that I'm fixing up. Other than doing lots of cleaning of the frame and components, I've replaced the piston rings and honed the cylinder. Additionally, I'm needing a couple of gaskets that are rubber-like ...
