Where did the gas go?

My second 1986 Spree, that I bought this summer, was in a shed for over 20 years, yet it was adult ridden by a woman golfer. Since the scooter hadn't been ridden for many years, I went through it cleaning the carburetor, fuel tank, fuel screen, etc. I left the covers off until I was sure everything ...

Re: What honda is this

It's a CT-90, probably a 1966 or 1967. I have a CT-200, and those have cast iron Knuckle-Head engines, which the one in the picture does not have. So, unless the engine was changed to the later aluminum alloy with the over-head cam, it's not a CT-200.

The CT-200 was a very good bike for its time ...

Re: Spree boggin at speed

It may be an overly simplified answer, but I would make perfectly sure that the gas cap vent is not plugged up a little. If the vent becomes plugged, it won't allow the fuel to flow enough, and the engine will often run lean, and show all sorts of weird symptoms.

Re: my 85 Aero may go on a Spree.

I'm having second thoughts about modifying this 86 Spree. I may look for another Spree for this project. I would have to undo this pristine scooter, that although repainted, is in excellent condition. (I gave $250.00 for both scooters.)

my 85 Aero may go on a Spree.

This is a running Rat-Bike, 85 Aero 50, and a potential motor and transmission for my 86 Spree.

Re: What's a good thing to do with it?

Thank you all for the good advice. The stock Spree seems to have a single speed, and takes off in that one speed and depends on the clutch to get started. I wouldn't mind having a variable speed transmission in the Spree, like the more expensive scooters have.

The Spree's engine would probably do ...

What's a good thing to do with it?

I'm new to this forum; in fact less than a week. Yet, I just bought 2 Honda scooters. I paid $250 for both a nice 1986 Spree, and a beater looking "rat-bike", as they call those that look terrible with parts missing. The beater is a 1985 Honda Areo 50. It has very little plastic left; and there are ...
