Re: Why is it that...........................

I am building up my '87 Spree with a Taz 44mm BBK but had planned to use the stock Spree Intake and reeds, and have already done some significant opening up of the stock Spree intake manifold. But the carb and reeds are stock.

Should I continue on with just the modified intake or should I look at a ...

Re: '87 Spree Resto Underway

Some more progress picts of my '87 resto. I'm not sure if this should go in the technical section or not but I'll start here.

These shots show two manifolds, one ported and one stock. I only touched up the upper portion as it appeared to be the choke point. I'd be interested to know how much other ...

Re: My first 2 builds

Trae,

Great looking Scoots, really like those whitewalls on the rat-rod! Is it an '87?

I followed the link to the website but it looks like whitewalls only come in 3.0".

Are they 10" x 3.00" and if so how did you get them to fit? I thought the biggest the Spree could take was 2.75"...

Thanks ...

Re: '87 Spree Resto Underway

:D Okay, a bit of a simplification on the aluminum cleaning. It was fairly involved.

I've always wanted to try this, For the painted side cover and front brake hub I used paint remover to take off the paint. I then used a 6" harbor freight grinder with a fine wire wheel on it and buffed all the ...

'87 Spree Resto Underway

Hey all,

Been a long time lurker here, figured it was time to show my project. I picked up this '87 Spree on CraigsList for $50. It hadn't run in years and was on the side of a house under the eaves so it was somewhat protected.

Spree Trans and Crnkcase bearings - the same size?

Hi,

I have an 87 Spree that I'm rebuilding. I pressed out the transmission cover bearing and measured it getting 35mm OD, 15mm ID & 11mm thick. I'm also planning on replacing the bearing in the crankcase but find it isn't available or price is not listed), so I searched on the 6202 designation for ...

Re: Paint scheme ideas.

I'm at the same stage! ... but will probably stick with retro red/white.

If you are going with the satin black, I'd think straight black or gun metal gray to complement it and keep the wheels with the same dark theme.

What type of paint/primer are you using and are you using any kind of flex agent ...

Newbie/New Spree Owner - Need Recommedations on process

Hi Everyone
IÔÇÖm not sure which topic this should be under so IÔÇÖll start here, if itÔÇÖs the wrong place, please let me know.

I picked up an ÔÇÖ87 Spree with 5000 miles on the clock and am starting a complete overhaul/restoration. Most of the parts are on it, but some items like the glove box ...
