Re: Front triple-tree style fork swaps

What about stock ruckus forks? I was under the impression that the lower part of the swapped steering stem (for the lower bearing) should be retained and the upper section could be welded/plugged with the upper section of the oem steering stem. Seems a bit sketchy to weld the whole spree stem to the ...

Re: Front triple-tree style fork swaps

Do you know if the stock ruckus front wheel can work with the zx50 front end? Thanks for the offer, btw, but I think I'll hold off for a straight fork stem

Re: Front triple-tree style fork swaps

I should add I am not concerned about clearing the plastics or any of that as I will only be using the headtube and lower frame tube.

Front triple-tree style fork swaps

I'm gathering pieces to make a cafe style pit bike for running around the track on, and I'm thinking of using the front headtube and frame from a spree parts bike I have left over. I had a question though for some of you smarties. I'm looking for some front triple-tree style forks that might ...

Re: '86 spree, just bought Ruckus motor!

Woohoo! Got my motor today. Going to start mocking stuff up on my spare frame for the motor mount, then worry about getting all the electrical and cables. Last on the list is the front fork swap. This is kind of a side project, and since riding season is pretty much over where I live (and I'm broke ...

Re: '86 spree, just bought Ruckus motor!

Working on a triple-tree setup from a chinese scooter my brother had. Forks are kinda wide, but I think I can make them work. Also have disk brakes on them. Only problem is it's a 6" wheel :(. There's a wheel repair shop in town, I'm going to see if they could swap the axle from the 6" wheel to a ...

Re: '86 spree, just ported/headswapped!

Whoa. Let get back on topic please, lol. I understand the flowrate thing. Just like I wouldn't buy a modified injector for my car (atleast not without flow charts and spray patterns), I, personally, wouldnt want to run a drilled jet. Not that I feel there's anything wrong if you do run them, and if ...

Re: '86 spree, just ported/headswapped!

So if you're running a #89with that setup, then a #85 is way to big for my setup, lol. What size jet should I jump to?

Love the whitewalls on your nq50! My cressida is just my daily, I love that car! Lol. Its bone stock factory manual with custom springs and mr2 struts. The gold car is my track ...

Re: '86 spree, just ported/headswapped!

Running a little lean (plug chop). Should I order a bigger jet? One of the bikes came with an extra #85, but that seems a bit overkill (stock is #68 right?). Maybe drill holes in the intake with the #85 on there to compensate? I'll try it out

Re: new guy, new spree :D

Well, busy day. Ported cylinder and intake, swapped heads to the oolder high comp head (sitting about @140psi) and did the pully mod with my ax24 vbelt. Bike is hitting 36-38mph right now! Very very happy :). No bottom end, but that's fine, I'm mostly cruising in 35mph zones, so i m not too worried ...

Re: new guy, new spree :D

^ I might eventually spend the $90 and get one, lol.
So I'm doing the headswap tomorrow, but I'm thinking of doing a mild exhaust and intake porting also. At that point though, would it be recomended that I rejet, and what jet should I run?

Re: new guy, new spree :D

Got some pics. The front is lowered about an inch now, but doesn't show when its on the kickstand. I made a side stand out of a spare stock stand today, but it was kinda sketchy, and dragged a bit when I made a hard lean to the right, so I just swapped back to the stock stand. Maybe I'll buy a jdm ...

Re: high compression headswap jetting?

I didn't measure, package was labeled 26", prolly outside, but it is noticably bigger diameter than stock.
