Im agreeing, wouldnt have got as far on repairs with my 89 elite, even though its still not running i still appreciate everyone thats helping me either from sourcing parts or just general repair
but the odd thing is if there was fuel getting in there wouldnt piston be wet from it exspecially if the engine doesnt fire? i took the head off, and it was dry as a bone.
the popping sound has stayed since it broke down, i replace the piston, head n rings because i THOUGHT it would correct the issue. which it hasn't.
the seal under where the belt is, is fine. i cant get to the seal on the other side, due to i cant find a dang puller for the fly wheel.
i think it hit the top due to, the previous piston was pretty messed up, the pin that holds the piston head to the shaft of it had pushed right through to the top, and was sticking out. thats what i think caused it to hit the spark. once the new piston went in, it was fine.
i was just doing my usual thing, heading home from work :coolcruise: , when there was a pressurized bang, and i lost power. Got off the road, and tried to turn it back on again, it just wouldn't turn over and there was this popping noise as i attempted to start it.
