Re: Honda Spree Belt Replacment

Thanks Abreen89, I guess I was not using enough force on the front pulley nut to
force the pulley half on the splines.

Honda Spree Belt Replacment

Is there a trick to installing a new belt on a spree? The service manual is not clear to me
on this issue,I think I am missing something simple.
Thanks, Kev

Piston Ring ID

When you purchase a new piston ring set and both rings look the same but one
has a green dot on it, how do you know which one is the 1st ring and which
one is the 2nd ring? There is no other ID on them. Thanks, Kev

Re: 50cc Bystarters

I see your point and I agree. The bystarter being resistive would use thermal expansion to
move the needle. For some reason I thought the bystarter was magnetic and would use
amperturns to move the needle to the center of a coil. Thanks Mousewheels for the
good infomation, I still have a lot to ...

Re: 50cc Bystarters

I measured the resistance by nicking the wires right at the bystarter coil. I bought this
bystarter new. I also bought a complete carb for my elite. The new carb bystarter also
checked in at 20 ohms. If a person got into dire straights I wonder if the alternator would
support a voltage double ...

50cc Bystarters

Has anyone noticed that the aftermarket bystarters are 20 ohms. The OEM ones are
around 5 ohms plus the series fixed resistor of 5 ohms. This gives the 10 ohms the
manual states as max. value. The 20 ohm one I tried never closed off the fuel
enrichment. Kev

Re: Rich Starting NN50 Engine

Looks like I overlooked the bystarter it shows a resistance of 20 ohms should be 10 ohms.
I will replace it and start tuneup again.

Re: Good Day

Hey MotorMike,
I had every intention of bringing the Indian to the rally, but the job is going to require
me to install a new X-Ray gauge the weekend of the DeadPed rally. I have vacation time
scheduled for the June Nashville rally and we will bring the Gyros. Also thanks for the trailer parking.

Good Day

I had a good day yesterday, I rode (2) red 1984 Honda Gyros, (2) red 1986 Honda Sprees,
(2) blue 1986 QT50 Yamahoppers, (2) red 1982 FA50 Suzukis and (1) red 1979 Indian Moped.
It's going to be hard to improve on that !!
