Re: Brake light issue.
Alright, I'll try to borrow a voltmeter from a friend. Since it's probably the brake switch, where is that located? Is that the part that actually comes into contact when you pull the lever? Would I have to replace the whole right hand side then?

Re: Brake light issue.
Sorry, should've said brake light. I was using tail light just to refer to the actual housing.

Brake light issue.
Haven't been here for awhile, but I recently picked up an 87' Spree for $200. Was running bad before, bogged down at higher speeds, but was an easy fix (had no air filter installed). Runs great now, but the only problem is that when I use the right brake lever (front), the tail light goes dim ...

Re: $50 Spree. Craigslist find
Nice find! And how is $5 a 20% profit? $10 is 20%.

Re: Idling problem! SB50P
Er, if I just told you I checked the reed valves, you should know that I had to dissemble it to take a look, which means I dissembled everything that was relating to the reed valves.

Re: Idling problem! SB50P
Gaskets looked fine, a little dusty, but intact. I also checked the reed valves and compared them to the wiki page to see if it was good or bad. They turned out to be good. Also, by screwing in the air screw all the way in, that makes it so I'm running lean?

Re: Idling problem! SB50P
I know what the manual says for the air screw is where to start it off from and yes, I kept adjusting it 1/4 a turn trying to get it to the highest RPM, then I adjusted the throttle stop screw until the rear wheel barely moves (I can basically stop it with my pinky finger). It's just that when I ...

Idling problem! SB50P
The problem is that my scooter idles nicely only when the air screw is all the way in. It still idles when I adjust it, but as soon as I give it throttle, it dies out. It is getting gas, I have clear Tygon hoses now and just replaced the petcock. Air filter is intact and oiled. I'm guessing it might ...

They don't go to anything. They're drain hoses.

Re: 1989 Elite E no power when turned on
Are you talking about the emulsion tube thing? If it is clogged, you should clean it. You can push it out from the top opening (where the throttle cable goes in) with something wooden or plastic, don't use anything metal.

Re: 1989 Elite E no power when turned on
You already suggested this to him. I also followed this thread and checked my reeds and compared it to the wiki pics showing good vs bad reeds.

Re: SB50P going slow at WOT HELP!
Could that even be the cause of my running slow while giving it full gas issue? It never happened with the other faulty petcock either. So, I'm not sure it's the petcock causing it. With the other issue of the petcock, are you telling me not to have one anymore and just run one straight line from ...
