On Spree, about .042"-.045". Assume other engines are same. This allows owner to leave out the .020" head gasket and not kill the engine.
great, thanks !!
when you mentioned that, i started to wonder so i checked it....it had like 0,080" !!!
it had 60psi compression too, i guess all the troubles ...

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
do you have any idea what is the "stock" squish clearance ? i searched all over the reference manuals and i dont see it anywhere, i know its an open chamber design thus they dont have realy a squish band, but there must be a given nominal clearance somehwere ?

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
fwiw i did put it all back together and fired it up. its a complete different thing for now. Now its obvious i need to fabricate a proper tune pipe for that.

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
fwiw, i edited my list of foes....
I did exactly what i said, i made the necessary gasket under the cylinder to bring the ports to get proper opening duration, and milled the top down+ 0,010 to bump up the CR a litle. I CC'd it all and its at about 8:1 for now, which is just fine imho. Note that ...

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
Which motor do you have af16 or af18? The main problem I see if it is an older af16 or even early af18....the kit you ordered its for a 12mm wrist pin which is a different crank than the af16 and early af18 if I am not mistaken. I know the af16 has a 10mm wrist pin NOT 12mm which the kit you bought ...

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
Hi
Could you post a link to which kit it was on Ebay?
I have had a look at the Dio options and there a very mixed bag on Ebay. One even looks like it is quoting the outer bore diameter as the inner bore which is not correct. I am not as knowlegable as a lot of the people on here but by looking ...

every time i ask a question on this forum i get bashed on. :*: i dont know what i am doing wrong.
for the takers, piston pin to deck is exactly the same so piston do not sit further down.
this kit is sold as a "direct replacement for dio motors, AF18E", so i dont see why in the * i would need to ...

Re: e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
Sounds like someone has no clue how to break in a new cylinder kit.
+1
ok, ok. :?
but that does not fix the port timing issue. they are all 0,060" down from the stock dio cylinder.
edit- they are more like 80 thou down !
i would need to put like 7 gasket under the cylinder to bring that to ...

e-bay 49cc cylinder kit...pure crap
I bought the 49cc kit cylinder kit on e-bay to fix my DIO motor, since its meant for a toy for my son, i didnt bothered much. The thing is pure crap. after 1 week of usage, cylinder is out of round, rings are burned here and there, and comparision with the oem honda cylinder, the inlet ports are too ...

Re: sot, help: tuning a/f on a AF18
Hi, project goes very well. It all runs and i want to make it run better.
i want to improve part throtle response.
I bought the TTO 14mm meter.
I have a stock AF18E with #75 jet (factory), but longer exhaust pipe and open foam filter.
What temp should i look for that i would assume "normal" ?

Hi, so i bought on a heartbeat a software to build tune pipes, just to see if i could fit one on my son's project jeep.
Anyone knows the port timings of a AF18 E ?
i searched a litle but didnt found anything yet.

Re: sot, help: tuning a/f on a AF18
thanks for the reply.
i am well aware of the tune pipe designs and how they works, there is just not enough space up front to fit such pipe so i decided to leave it alone.
how does that temp stuff work, you run WOT and then check the temp ?
the thing is, if i want to do that i will need to go drive ...
