Thought about that too so I baked the exhaust and no improvement. Then I drilled the baffles and there was still no improvement. Check out hondapartsdirect.net. I've ordered lots of dirt bike parts from them and their prices seem to be lower than most. They have online parts diagrams of all the various honda bikes including the Spree.

The little canister thing they're connected to is essentially a vacuum switch. When vacuum from the engine is applied to the lower hose it allows fuel to flow through the upper hose.

Remove the air filter and use your hand as a choke as you turn the starter over. If it starts then you'll know it's probably a fuel problem.
