I would go to your nearest Honda store and you should be able to buy everything you need there, 2-stroke oil, foam filter, and a cover if they have it in stock otherwise they can order one.
Installing aftermarket air-intake stuff requires tinkering with the carb and resizing the jets. These little ...

Re: Criagslist...
murphy's law as I sold my pristine '82 Yamaha Virago (2200 miles) last summer for $1350.
this year it might have sold for $1800 quickly with all the other posts to compare....
I think that is the problem though. People go to see what their bike is selling for and think, "mine is much better then ...

Okay so is it me or is every single motorcycle on Craigslist overpriced????
I always see reasonable deals on scooters like the spree, but when it comes to older motorcycles it is just ridiculous. I am currently looking for an older cruiser late 70's mid 80's for commuting, nothing over 400cc. I ...

Re: 44mm bore kit
I was just looking at his ebay listing and was wondering if that was him.
Thanks for the speedy response guys! And I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. Not sure if I will ever go through with this was just curious as to how the whole process goes!
Anyone here with just this upgrade in there ...

44mm bore kit
Wondering if some of you spree gods out there can shed some knowledge on this matter.
Seen em for ~100 bucks on ebay. From what I have heard it will give you a 66.9cc engine from the 49cc stock. It also sounds like this is just a simple unbolt old cylinder and piston and bolt new kit in. Never done ...

Re: Bad/wrong plug
Yes the banditos got the cross reference right, but that still doesn't mean that it is the right plug. I ran this plug for about a week and my scooter ran like a pile of poo! It was very hard to start and lost a lot of low end power!
*I would not recommend running this plug*

Re: Carb Nipple
I probably over exaggerated the power loss. It's not like the scooter runs like a pile, it's just that when going up a VERY steep hill there is a "noticeable" difference in power, but the power is still there to get up the hill. Of course when running on anything relatively flat it runs just fine ...

Re: Carb Nipple
Oh I have no doubt that I am over thinking this one. What else would I be thinking about though if I didn't.. :? Anyways I don't expect it to be any better, just getting my hopes up that's all. The nipple however is actually not that loose, its got a snug fit and has only ever come out i think twice ...

Re: Carb Nipple
If for some odd reason it just wont fit at all can ALL of the solder be removed fairly easily? aka return it to its factory condition?
BREAZE: Did you notice a lack of power when the nipple came lose?

Re: Carb Nipple
Cheap - as in less expensive than a brand new carburetor from Honda dealer.
I guess I should have said that instead. Probably somewhere between $30 - $50. Depends on condition.
I like the solutions given so far. No cost to try. :thumbwink:

Re: Carb Nipple
I like the idea of solder and it sounds simple.
I'm not sure which end you are considering up so it is a little confusing. Are you talking about sticking the brass nipple in and then laying down some solder where the brass meets the carb (more or less welding it in place)? Or coating the brass ...

Re: Carb Nipple
Maybe just try another carb. and be on your way. Plenty of pre owned units around here for cheap. Sometimes this is the best solution.
What kind of scooter is it going on? Stock or mod?
Can you define cheap? My 86' spree is all stock.
Anyone else think my reasoning for sucking in air to ...

Carb Nipple
Besides the funny title, I posted this a few weeks back but the thread got locked so here is my previous question:
I might as well address another problem...The "Fuel In" line to the carb attaches to that little brass nipple. Well that little brass nipple has come out of the carb (I'm pretty sure ...

Had NAPA order me the ngk BPR6HSA plug today, and put in the old plug so it doesn't run like a pile anymore (*:

Re: Bad/wrong plug
I can't remember off the top of my head what the number I am looking for is for the NGK's (it's what ever the manual has listed for an 86 honda spree), but I believe Odin has it right with the autolite plug.
