Replaced reeds today. New gaskets around the reed assembly... stupid moped. still boggs down and then dies. If i cover half of the carb from the air filter box, then it will rev up, with out dying out. Once I stop doing this and turn off the moped it or let it idle to die, it won't start back up for ...

Yeah carb is set and ready to rock... Really unsure whats going on with this stupid moped...

yup rubber o rings are in place with the arrows pointing correctly.

Today cleaned moped just to make sure it wasn't the exhaust. I started it up and the same problem happened, idles great but when I give it gas it revs up and then bogs down and eventually dies. Cleaned the muffler and put it back on and the same thing happens.


When I replaced the gaskets around ...

will check the muffler. I also put in new exhaust gasket and new air filter. I have done so much that I forgot the little stuff that I have done to it!!

I have been trying to fix my 86 NQ50 for the past 4 months and still can't figure out what is wrong with it. I have done the following:

-new piston and rings and jug
-new bystarter
-cleaned carb 50+ times
-float seems to be fine in carb
-have checked reeds and new gaskets around reeds
-new plug ...

I am having troubles getting my moped to run and idle smoothly. When I go to give it gas, it seems to bog out. I think I have the problem narrowed down to timing, but I am up in the air and open to new ideas. Also if it is the timing,where and how do I go about adjusting that?

I took a small copper wire and ran in through both idle set, and the air jet screws... nothing but a little gas was on the end of the wire. I then tried to start the ped. Started like it has done before-- took off the air filter hose and put a towel to restrict some air and it seemed to idle better ...

I am putting back together my moped... I weight anywhere between 240-280lbs . i have a honda spree the nq50 1986. I am currently putting in a larger piston the .25 overboar..

As i am putting this back together i dont know what type of oil and what type of injector oil to use.... there are somany ...

so over the weekend i recleaned the carb.

soaked it in carb cleaner, also did the same to the petcock.
took off the muffler and decarbed a bit. regapped the plug, and put the battery on a charger...

there seems to be gas and oil going to the cyclder. but is still not firing.
any one eles have ...

also how much gas should be comming out of the fuel like when the vaccume is sucking properly, could it be that flote is it sucking to much? or that the petcock is letting to much through... i am at a loss

yeah your right... there isnt any gas going through the bottom/vaccume line. the petcock seemes to be doing its job. and the carb is cleaned... but it still just turns. will not fire.

can any one give me a ruff idea how much finger pressure i would be getting for compression, if i check back of ...

ok so i took off the tank and the carb. I re cleaned the carb... the float seems to be working in a floating matter???

now i am confused about the petcock. I took it off the tanks. When the vacume line is on from the carb to the petcock there isnt any fuel in it... it sucks and a bit of gas comes ...
