Head Gasket Question
I am doing a full engine rebuild and today went to put the head back on. I put the gasket in place and it looked good to me, so I went and bolted the head on. I noticed today there is a tab that sticks out on one side and a missing tab on the other. Here's two pictures that describe it a lot better ...

Re: 1985 Elite 150 Full Restoration - In Progress
I saw those wheel hubs in that bath and thought no good will come from this. I hope it has only done minor cosmetic damage to the hubs. Paint stripper won't attack aluminium, same goes for non caustic based spray-on oven cleaner (I've discovered this method can work wonders with cleaning grimy ...

Re: 1985 Elite 150 Full Restoration - In Progress
Turns out the center of the wheel is aluminum and not steel. So now I have a nice black coating on them just like the carburetor. I tried dipping them in boiling soapy water but it didn't really do anything. I'm going to have to find a place to have these blasted or ultrasonic'd.

Re: 1985 Elite 150 Full Restoration - In Progress
Today I pulled the wheel bearings and began prep for painting the wheels. Also got clear coat on some parts and cleaned the starter motor. First they were cleaned with purple power, than aircraft paint stripper, now they are soaking in sodium hydroxide (lye). Everything I have read says that the ...

Replacing Vital Parts on eBay
I'm going to have to replace my fuel petcock & carburetor on my 85 CH150. I know on eBay there are plenty of sellers for these parts and all of them are made in China. Has anyone had any experience with these parts? I would think Chinese pot metal is not the same quality as the original parts.

Re: Gasket Kits??
Jeez that is expensive. It costs about the same to get a full head gasket kit for a Civic! I'll have to look into the DIY paper gasket method... Sounds interesting to say the least.
