Re: Taking the next step with my SA50.

That's a solid starter kit. SSS is an awesome place to buy parts from. I've built 2 sa50s and a couple other mopeds. My current one can get mid 70s fairly easy. You should invest in a trailtech vapor gauge so you can track more engine variables. At the very least you should have a CHT gauge. I'm ...

99 Elite fork dio fork swap

I found a dio fork and stem on Craigslist and was wondering if this would be a bolt on swap on my 99 elite. I'm guessing it would be a cheaper alternative to disc brakes than the stem that scooter swap shop is selling. Any one ever done this?

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

65 mph and you're not even running corsa?? Seems like people with similar set ups and corsa are maxing out around there so congrats! If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get the pg short for? And what kind of clutch are you using? I'm starting to order all my parts for a similar build. Only ...

Re: 1989 Honda elite lx help

Another thing I forgot to mention. When you're first starting out doing mods, try only doing one thing at a time. Thats how I like to do it. I think it gives a much better perspective as to what each mod does and how it affects tuning. However If you're going the bbk route I would wait until you ...

Re: 1989 Honda elite lx help

I'm not sure what motor the 89 elite has exactly. I know the 94-01 has an sa50 (or af16 to be exact). When i searched parts I looked for sa50. If I remember correctly the earlier elites had se50 engines. Again don't quote me on that. Im sure you can find it in a search.

Remember that you can't ...

Re: 1989 Honda elite lx help

I think the 89 uses a lot of the same parts as the 94-01 but don't quote me on that. Start off with a high speed variator. You can play around with variator weights such as lighter weights=quicker acceleration and better for hills and such since it allows the engines rpms to stay in the power band ...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

Well I ended up selling it today. Kinda sad to see it go but I'm open for another project maybe something a little different like a dreaded 4 stroke

Here's some of the latest pics i took before selling

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

Running with a tube leaves a safety net in case of a flat or blowout. The stock wheels i believe have to use tube because they arent air tight. Honda metropolitan wheels are air tight and tubless rims and they are slightly wider. My jets are 125 main 48 pilot needle clip at the top. I could probably ...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

Yeah I'm running at 65 not a corsa but I did do some porting of both the exhaust port and the transfers. That definitely helped a lot. I don't see the need for the corsa at this point haha. The 90/90 michelin is a good tire feels surprisingly stable at top speed. Its a michelin S1 tire running one ...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

So with the mods listed above i was able to maintain a 45 mph top speed. I took the top end back apart to port the exhaust and work on the transfer ports a little and saw an increase of about 1000 RPMs and a few more mph. Then I bought a PG short and hung on for life. The difference in take off and ...

After market kicker levers for the elite?

I'm trying to find out what after market kick start levers fit on a 99 elite motor. I've seen some scoots in the build pages with aftermarket kickers and they look sweet just wondering what fits. Such as ruckus kickers maybe?

Re: Looking for ideas to add some style

Graphite9 that elite is a pure work of art. Probably the best looking one on this forum. I already contacted the guy that recovered that seat to see if he would do mine so thats in the works. Also I'd give you cash money right this second if you had an adapter that bolted on to the stock elite stem ...
