I just took the carb apart again, and put it back together per carb cleaning instructions. The carb is like new as only 7 miles on it. It will start for 1-2 seconds and then dies. If I cover the air intake I can keep it running for a lot longer but it does not stay ...

You're right, when I cleaned the carb I blew the float pin somewhere and had reassembled it without it. Bought one today at a local shop and not leaking anymore. Now just won't start. It high reved and then died. Now I'm getting nothing. I have good compression, good spark, clean carb.

Cleaned the Carb on the 86 with 7 miles on it. It started and idled well until I noticed gas coming from the carb. I checked the drain screw and the o ring was torn so I put on a new oring and tried again and still leaking. It is leaking not from the drain coming from the bottom of the carb ...

My Uncle won a 1986 Spree in 1986. He drove it home and that was it. Now I have it and don't know how to go about getting it moving. Any advice or links to previous posts?
