Never got the Aero running. I've just listed it on Craigslist. We are in Northern MI, 12 mins from the Mackinac Bridge.

Re: Aero 125 needs help!!

I also forgot to mention this little nugget of joy.....

The day we looked at it, and fired it up, and it ran for 15 seconds.... the battery was hooked up backwards..... I'm not even sure how that is possible, but that's what happened.

The gentleman told us that the "fuel pump" need replacing ...

Re: Aero 125 needs help!!

We have a decent spark. ... hard to tell in daylight! Yes, used gas in the carb as well. The bowl is filing with gas. Forgot about the bystarter... the Elite would start fine when the bystarter was bad, just would only run for 10-20 seconds. This one won't start at all. The bystarter is on the list ...

update on progress

well, we have now put in some new parts: a coil, a regulator/rectifier, a CDI unit, and a petcock assembly. It still won't start! It did "bang" once when starter fluid was sprayed in the carb....

Ideas? places to locate parts?

BTW, the Razz runs like a charm!

Re: Aero 125 needs help!!

LOL, nope, not scooter speed (but it could be if I get this one going!)

OK, put the warm, dry plug in the scoot... does not start. Little spark. Wet when taken out and put back in Elite.

Starting to think it may be the low compression...

Re: Aero 125 needs help!!

Thanks! I will have to check the reeds. I already tried swapping the coil for the one that works on my Elite. I got a pm from somebody that said the Aero should have compression of 169 psi. If that is the case, I'll prob have to start scouring the web for rings. What do you think?

Aero 125 needs help!!

.... quick history.... got an 88 Elite, wouldn't stay running, replaced the fuel valve and the bystarter, and it runs like a charm......

I just picked an Aero up about a month ago. I've been tinkering with it, and still can't get it running! It started when I looked at it, but wouldn't stay running ...
