Needle has "76P" stamped on it. Also, I have a new petcock to install. It was cheap so, just to remove it from the equation. Vacuum line has been replaced, and new clamps on it. The barb appears clear and clean on the intake side.
One thing I would like to do before I put the carb body back in is ...

Re: '86 Spree runs then dies
This is the carb body. I haven't had as much time as I'd like to get moving on this. I appreciate all contributing to the solution.

Re: '86 Spree runs then dies
Take care to get the correct needle for your scooter.
1) Even the OEM Spree had unique part numbers depending upon year and if the Spree were restricted or not -- see info at this link
2) The only carb rebuild kits I've seen are for clone carbs, and they have only one needle. That does not match ...

Re: '86 Spree runs then dies
I tested the petcock with a vacuum pump. Flows freely. No gas in the vacuum line. What I did find was a bent carb needle. I straightened it out the best I could. I cleaned the pilot jet again.
Runs and idles pretty well. Seems to lack power overall. I think the bend in the needle had a negative ...

Re: '86 Spree runs then dies
What controls the bystarter electronically? I have 2 bystarters and it seems that neither do anything. If I unplug the one in the carb and plug in the spare, nothing happens to the spare and the bike does the same thing.

Re: '86 Spree runs then dies
Several potential issues here. Have you read the manual? Without details on things like was it running? What is the condition of spark plug filter petcock exhaust? More detail prehaps one of us can help.

'86 Spree runs then dies
It starts up, runs for a couple minutes, then dies. After a few minutes it will start again but will run a shorter amount of time. Seems to die once it gets hot. Idle jet screw has negligible effect. No apparent vacuum leaks. Carb has been gone over. Starting to lose my mind on this one..

Re: Honda Spree, Idles great, runs fast on stand, but bogs d
Carb body is stripped/weak on the inboard side. The bolt passes through so, I will attempt to use a longer bolt and cinch it down with a nut. If that fails, I will have to helicoil the carb body. If I end up doing that, at least I know it won't strip again! But, a bit of a pain either way. Starts ...

Re: Honda Spree, Idles great, runs fast on stand, but bogs d
Finally got aroung to pulling the carb. After talking with the previous owner, I decided to use the old carb body and frankenstein the two. The float on the original was the primary issue. I cleaned the jets, swapped in the fresh seals off of the new carb, and put in the new float. I also checked ...

I didn't get a chance to monkey with the airbox. Take a look at the two carbs and tell me what you think. Not shown is a hose on the other side which hangs free and appears to have a brass orifice in it.

Re: Honda Spree, Idles great, runs fast on stand, but bogs d
Can you post the pics of the ofending carb? Have you checked the furl ine to see if the petcok allows fuel to flow to th carb while cranking. Im wondering if the vent to allow air in to the carb is plugged up with one of the hoses you mentioned. Did you check all of the air box and connections yet ...
