i was having trouble keeping the engine running,i found out i needed a new fuel valve (the one located beneath the tank) after installing this i pushed down a couple times to start engine and the kick starter hung up and now it will not go down.do i need to pull the side cover off and look inside ...

after starting my 1986 honda spree i acclerate for a few seconds and then the motor dies out. i shut it off and after a few minutes i can start it but it will run throttled up for only about a minute or less
there is 1500 miles on the engine.
