Re: carburetor (revisited) ALL FIXED
Thank you everyone for your responses, especially mousewheels for the pictures he sent me. The clog up was inside a super tiny passage near the bottom of brass tube A.

carburetor (revisited)
Well I am pretty sure I have all the small passageways cleaned out but one. After soaking in carb dip for 3 days, blowing them all out with compressed air, and re soaking again in Acetone over night. I have one passageway that so far has resisted clean out. I even poked and prodded with a .014 music ...

Need new battery
The one in my Honda Spree (or before it was mine) froze last winter (now has huge bulging sides). I noticed that the one that was in it was a Power Sonic PTX4LBS-FS, it appears to be a gel cell, will any YTX4L-BS acid battery replace it, or do I need to make sure it isn't spill-able? What do you ...

Fuel tank plastic screen/tube
There is a very very fine mesh plastic pick up tube inside the Honda Spree 50cc fuel tank between tank and petcock. Is it safe to soak this plastic in carburetor dip/cleaner?

Re: 1984 Bystarter
No amount of poking, applying a vacuum, or high pressure (about 100 pounds air pressure) will clear out this passage, so I put the bowel back into the carb cleaner and maybe will allow it to soak a week in it (hopefully this will loosen the obstruction). If worse comes to worse, maybe I will try to ...

Re: 1984 Bystarter
NO! I saw that, but thought it was a "roll pin" as it didn't look like a passage way, I am sure that is the problem. Thanks......

Re: 1984 Bystarter
I am pretty sure I cleaned out all the various brass pick-up tubes. I soaked the dissembled carb and its parts (minus the various O rings) in carb cleaner for 3 days, and used high pressure air to blow out each and every passage I could find.martynkim wrote:Did you clean the emulsion tube under the jet?

1984 Bystarter
Is there more than one bystarter, or more specifically is there a difference in bystarters (electric choke) for various models/years of scooters, or are they all the same? If they are different, what part number should I be looking for a 1984 Honda Spree 50cc scooter?
