what does the reed valve do, it seems like the engine is not sucking fuel into the cylinder.everything else has been replaced

I put a compression gauge on the engine, it took 3 kicks to get compression up to 90 pounds. it will only start for a few seconds if fuel is poured in carb.

1986 Honda 50 spree will not run more than a few seconds. I replaced carb,piston,rings and oil pump. the kick start gears appear good, the spring somehow ends up under the kickstart gear . the lever then sticks in the down position. how much tension does the spring need on it

I have a Honda spree that I put new rings,piston,carb,gas tank,fuel pump and it will not start. I cannot get vacumn from the new carb ports to operate the fuel pump.
