Re: Honda lead NH50 1990 - belt cover
A bigger hammer….Ive seen people goop them on with RTV before. Make sure theres not a hiding bolt still on the underside.

Re: 1981 Express II na50
R.I.P. your connecting rod. Needs a complete overhaul with all new internals. See if Treatland has what you need. They deal with old moped stuff. If not, look on ebay for some decent used stuff.

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Having a fully running Spree as a test subject is helpful in diagnosis when youre stumped. Start swapping parts, piece by piece, until you strike gold….CDI, starter relay, ignition coil, stator, carb, etc…

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Im still thinking theres an airleak somewhere. If fuel delivery is proper and spark is present….the air must be way off or you’d get ignition.
Maybe not “running” but ignition at least. Sputter, cough, puff..

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Check the reed petals? Its pretty rare they fail but I’ve had one petal snap off before and causing runability issues…but it was a cheapo reed valve that came with the china intake I bought. Ive also had the crank seal on the stator side pop out for no apparent reason. Also had (what I thought) was ...

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Theres supposed to be a thin washer behind the bendix to keep it away from the motor case a bit. Theres also supposed to be a copper bushing in the belt cover hole for the bendix tip to go into.

Re: 1986 Spree breathing through a CDF50
This talk about drain bolt, adding oil and 10w30, leads me to think youre talking about the gear oil in the rear. If so: there is no “drain” bolt…only a “fill” bolt. To replace the oil you need to remove the cover. This would require having a new gasket on-hand before you do this.

Re: Headlight died after unplugging rectifier
You can remove the headlight and bench test it by putting 12v on the terminals. It has 3 prongs…ground, low beam, high beam.

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Firing it up with a drill on the crank bolt would at least eliminate issues I mentioned and zero in on starter loop problem. The drill needs to spin pretty fast and be spinning the right direction. I think it goes reverese…which makes it difficult since the crank bolt wants to unscrew unless its on ...

Re: ‘85 Spree - No start condition again
Also try swapping the ignition coil for a known good one. Even if it has spark, it might still be faulty. Also check the sparkplug gap and verify youre getting a good seal at the crush washer.
