Re: All sorts of messed up

The leaking gas is probably a bad float needle/petcock. Did you run the stock boss?

Re: Ebay Rebuilt starter Motors??

Here is what I found....

Starter motors:
1984/1985 Sprees - 10 tooth
1986/1987 Sprees - 11 tooth
Caution: Mixing starters causes binding, slow cranking and may cause starter motor damage.

Starter Bendix 1984/85 (65 tooth gear) <> 1986/87 (63 tooth gear) (interchange causes binding problems)
1984 ...

Re: Ebay Rebuilt starter Motors??

I would make sure you have the correct starter motor bendix combo. I believe the 84-85 starters are 10 tooth and 86-87 are 11 tooth, if you have the wrong combo the result will be a slow spinning starter like you described.

How well does the color match? I hear the purple doesn't match the OEM color.

It restricts belt movement to lower top speeds, you will want to remove it.

Re: Help me build my 88 Honda elite e please

Do people modify these motors at all? It’s a sb50p, I was looking on scooter swap shop and there are some upgrades on the pre 94’ section. Will any of these upgrades work on my engine?

No, the SB50 came with a non-variated engine and is closest to the Spree. You will need to find an AF16 or ...

Re: Af16 on Sb50- rear suspension fab

SSS sell's a bolt on kit for the rear shock mount. I have posted some photos of what I did on the FB elite/dio pages. I ended up drilling a hole in the tube frame (under the gas tank), welded in a a bolt. I will see if I can dig up some photos.
