Re: 86' Spree Bogging and Low Torque with Throttle
i dunno, my '86 spree starts/idles/accelerates perfectly. Last carb clean performed was 2024. I also added Stabil 360 to the fuel tank. Note it does do a lot of sitting as well.

Re: plugged carb float bowl
Maybe Ultrasound cleaner will do the trick.
Agreed, cleaning in a *heated* ultrasonic cleaner followed by strong, focused stream of compressed air likely would have done the business, avoiding actual drilling. IF last resort is to drill, its size must be confirmed/matched to correct opening ...

Re: Just need some general help
Welcome... :hi:
I believe the Spree is best left as Honda built it...and so much easier to keep in fine tune if
you want to ride it much.
I as well, have a tendency to leave well enough alone. My Honda and Ducati's, all 3 remain basically engine "mod" free, save for carb jetting on the older ...

Re: Stiff Air box/carb connector tube
Using a zip lock bag with armor all coated on the elbow, leave it set overnight. Then an electric hairdryer to really soften it up prior to install.
No doubt there will be other methods and ideas from others

Re: Aero NH80 Float filling with gas
Note there is a vast difference between non-adjustable, hanger type, fixed float needles versus adjustable, spring tip type (with the little hanger spring)
Of course one can not be used in place of another....used only in conjunction with the appropriate, matching type float

Re: Aero NH80 Float filling with gas
The part # shown in your link (at least what is shown on the box) agrees with Honda parts fiche....the original was nylon/ plastic/fixed/ non-adjustable? The one linked has a metal tang, clearly adjustable,

Re: Aero NH80 Float bowl filling with gas
Beware, there is no float needle supplied, just the float and float pin in your Ebay link.
By part #, it does indeed fit 1983 and 84 NH 80.

Re: Clarification on coil test with ohmmeter
Just for yuks, i browsed ebay for Spree coils, quite affordable, readily available.

Re: Clarification on coil test with ohmmeter
your .4 primary likely ok (your meter possibly "off"?)
but secondary should read 3.7 to 4.5 ohm (cap removed) according to book
the book doesn't lie (nor does the meter, provided its operational and calibrated)...coil FAIL, IMHO

Re: spark related questions
you've got to "read between the lines" too....for example...the spark plug body actually supplies the grounding point to engine (via the threads to head). Some of the coil components may also ground at their mounting points.
