Okay, here's the story on the Razz. The other day I tried starting it again without any luck. The only thing I hadn't done was a compression check. I had to pull the engine away from the frame to do get my tester in there. It registered only 30psi; the minimum is 54 for the Razz. I furiously tore ...

won't start

I'm actually working on a Yamaha Razz right now instead of my spree, but I was hoping you spree guys could help me out anyway. I got my razz from a friend, and he only said that it didn't run. I bought a new spark plug and air filter for it and I tried to start it up...nothing. I pulled the plug ...

spark plug problem

I have a strange Spree. When I fire it up after sitting overnight, it idles but dies if I twist on the throttle. After about five minutes of idling (if I don't mess with the throttle), it dies on its own. If I take the spark plug out, it is oil fouled. After I clean it off and replace it, the Spree ...

ALL repair shops ALWAYS rob you on the $/hour. It's much more economical to do things yourself.

My '85 Spree was missing its key too. So I pulled off the ignition switch and took it to a lock and key joint. They charged $25 to make a new key. It was $73 for a new ignition switch from my Honda shop. Go figure.

I rebuilt my Spree engine about two weeks ago. New rings were $25.34. The jug and head gaskets totaled $8.10. I don't know about piston prices, though. I had to replace my wrist bearing, both crank bearings and oil seals too because my engine had sat for some time. The crank shaft bearings alone ...

Hey, I think my Spree has a similar problem. When I pull the bystarter out, a spring and a small needle come out. It looks like the brass collar is lodged in the carb. I pulled it out, but it seems to hold another small pipe in place. This "pipe" goes into the bowl. I think I might be missing the ...

Troublesome carb

All right, I just joined the forum about five minutes ago. I bought my Spree from this older guy who was raiding some parts off of it. I stripped it down and put new rings, oil seals, crank bearings, and gaskets on it. I have worked on several Yamaha Razz mopeds before, so I am familiar with the ...
