The idle is high but it sounds great mabe a valve adjustment will help its probably never had one

The only difference is in 85 there was no oil dipstick you fill through a hole with a bolt otherwise all the engines are interchangeable. I even replaced the 85 case half without dipstick with one with dipstick

Absolutely zero difference between 1985 and 2007 except 85 doesn't have oil fill tube. And in 2000 the went to modular headlight the only other difference is available colors and seat and decal patterns but they didn't change much

What is a slipping noise? Like a squealing alternator belt on a car?
