What does this wire do?
The green ground wire on the right. It's frayed and i thought it might be the thing causing my scooter to not function properly. It has a slight nic in it but i couldn't tell if any metal was touching it but i have some sort of electrical grounding problem. The 86 or 87 elite 50 is really sporadic ...

86 spree wont start(has spark, compression, fuel)
My 86 spree has sat all summer
I know it has spark and compression and is getting fuel. Carb is super clean and intake is breathable.
What else can i check to see if that helps it start?

Sporadic acc. along with headlight brightness fluxuations
I have an 87 elite 50. Got it free in almost running order. Had a bearing fail and had to replace it which involved removing the engine and breaking it down.... It ran fine for a little while after this but then developed some sort of electrical short/glitch in one of the parts somewhere.
