Good point!

I've got a new clutch on order, so maybe it'll fix the shudder...

The bottom end is still pretty bogged down though, so I'll try moving the pin on the needle... as upsmale suggested to me on another topic.

Ok..

Got the new belt and also picked up a new air filter. I ordered a new clutch weight set to be installed later.

The new belt definately fixed the drive issue... Thanks for the help!

Now I just need to get the fine tuning done. My low end is pretty scary.
When taking off, the bike shudders and ...

Okay, here is the latest on the carburator stuff...

Starts perfectly, idles fine once warm...

Here's the kicker... I got a really crummy take off.
The bike shudders, and takes off real slow... The low end seems
to be the problem...

Once I get up to about 10mph, it seems to run ok. The scoot will ...

I'll post some pics after the bike is completed.

Clutch and Belt Questions

First off I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and opinions regarding my electrical and engine problems. Without your help, I'd still have a completely useless scoot.... Thank you!

I have one more problem with the scooter and again call on the scoot gurus.

Now that the bike seems to be ...

That did the trick...

Let the carb sit in cleaner for a few days, and eventually got the idle tube clean. As you mentioned, you could hardly see light through it. Now it appears as though the engine is finallly running like it's supposed to.

Now that the electrical & engine problems are a thing of ...

Didn't know there was a unspoken method... No biggie.

I take it that you rebuild carbs then?

Still letting it soak tonight, got home late and to d*** tired to deal
with it...

Hopefully I'll have another go at it tomorrow...
Thanks for the advice :)

Soaking the carburator again and I'll try clearing the hole tomorrow.

So if I understand correctly...

The small hole next to the main jet (top view) should go all the way thru
the tube down into the bowl...

Also, there are other holes in this same tube that may need to be cleaned.

With that said ...

Also...

I removed the air mixture screw & spring since it seems to intersect with the tube I mentioned above. I then ran about 70psi thru the bottom of that tube and couldn't feel any air escaping.... I think it's plugged. Even if you aren't supposed to see thru the tube, I'd suspect that I should ...

Ok the 4 holes on that tube were clean, no problems there.
However, There is a small tube that runs almost parallel to the main jet that appears to be clogged. Should you be able to see light straight thru it? If you are looking thru the tube from the bottom....

I believe it's the tube on the far ...
