the 85 engine is just plain bigger, it has a bigger 2 bolt intake while the 86 has a 4 bolt, bigger reeds, better clutch, better drive gears, the top end is a high compression, case is thicker, bigger and better stroker, better head. i can go on, but those are the basics.

lol, i'm exactly the same, Have just bought an '86 Vision 50, but mines the black with red trim version.

Mine hadn't been run for 6 years and has scrappy panels...repaint in order!

If you find somewhere to get replacement stickers let me know!

Did you have any issues with MOT?

Sorted 8)

Geen wire had broken on back of Ignition. Resoldered them all for peace of mind.

Now Runs and stops fine, thanks for the tips!

Onto the next problem...leaking carb :lol:

Are the Elite and Aero seat latches the same?

I need the metal bracket for the seat latch (on the left) for my '86 Vision 50 (Equivalent to the Aero 50, I believe)

update...When I pull a spade off the coil, it does die out.

Assume this implies ignition problem?

Thanks, i'll check the ignition switch.

Would a carboned up piston cause the same problem then?

I'm a car man normally, 2 strokes are new to me :oops:

Firstly, hi all, first post!

1986 Vision NE 50 MF, Not a spree i'm afraid, but I believe it's pretty much identical!

It hasn't been run in 6 years so I cleaned the carb, tank out etc and have got it started, but when I turn it off and remove the key it keeps on running for a minute or so and ...
