same problem!

i lost alot of power one day, so i cleaned the carb marticulously, really good... anyways i start it up and it idles crap, warms up then when i drive it it bogs down and i reakon its the air filter, stupid thing iwh i never cleaned the carb now

the short of it is, was going 45km/h now going 30km/h... where do i start to get more spped... dont say carb as its been cleaned heaps!

Air filter and power surge issues

i first had a spree that ran up to 45km/h then it broke, brought another that ran really rough but also went up to 45km/h. so i made one brilliant scooter out of the both of them, now it only goes up to 39km/h.

i dont think its the carb as iv tried both carbs and it still runs the same. so i tried ...

i had all those things, mine turned out to be the bottom piston ring was continually stuck in... also check grounding wires to frame

in the manual it says:

attach tachometer and set throttle stop screw to specified 1800rpm.
when engine misses or runs erractically proceed with:
*screw in air screw till lightly seated and turn out 1 3/8 turns
*reset idle speed with throttle screw
*turn the air screw in or out to find the highest ...

Oil useage and Overheating -Airscrew?

with the idle screw and air screw are they there simply to set your idle speed right or do they have an impact on the fuel/oil/air ratio?

i mean by setting it to one extreme will you foul spark plugs and to the other extreme overheat and melt pistions?

The reason i ask is because i have two carbs ...

good news i got one of the bikes started bt its still doing blinkers and horn in tandem sound. starting problem appeared to be spark plug.

i know that sumwhere the wires must be joining and mixing currents, but it just doesnt make sense how originally i didnt have a problem until i replaced the ...
