If you are still looking for a starter, ebay is a good place to get one, they don't seem to auction many bendix(s) though...

a guess: perhaps there is a short that is "engaged" when you activate the rear brake, and for some reason it screws up the spark--check and see if you have a spark when the brake is on (when the bike won't run). If the bike runs fine without the rear s*** hooked up, you should test all of the wiring ...

So, I ended up getting a 12 for the battery; and I figured out that the original wire was a 14. The repairs went smooth as some of the wiring had been overloaded or something, it was all melted together. I am going to test all of the electrical s*** and make sure that nothing is going to cause that ...

Yeah, I checked the manual, maybe I missed it, but I don't think it says anything about wire gauges. Noise?

The carb has an "emergency" drainage system, it lets fuel out when the float fills up too high; a faulty float valve or float itself could cause this.

Noise, I am going to have to replace the neg bat cable, what gauge would you recomend for this--it looks like a 10 or 12, but I want to be sure, yeah, it's pretty messed up. Thanks, I'll let you know when I make progress.

I haven't had a lot of time to work on the scoot, but I have managed to strip it down in order to do a complete "overhaul" or whatever they call it. I have tested most of the electrical wiring and it tests good. I am curious to know where I can get the proper gaskets for this bike--anybody know ...
