How do I go about checking if the petcock is still good?

Alright so I cleaned our the carb, and the elite starts when I spray starter fluid in to the carb but it dies after a few seconds. It will not hold idle and for some reason or another gas isn't getting to the engine any ideas. I know the jets are good as I looked through the holes and saw the sky so ...

have you joined total ruckus? they have plenty of them for sale since they all upgrade to better ones.

What is the status of the petcock ?
Is it functioning as intended with vacuum being used to open the diaphram ?
OR...has it been bypassed and is functioning as OPEN all the time ?

Alright so I bought this scooter about a year ago and just now getting to it. It turns over but doesn't fire up. It has spark so that's not the issue. has new battery

I have since bought and elite 80 which was last registered in AZ and i don't want the hassle of registering it here in CA so i want to know if anyone has ever put an elite 80 ...

i have a afo5 for sale.

so i bought a ch80 and need help i want to swap it into my elite 50 frame but need it to run properly first.
i have hooked up jumper cables to it and it wants to start but i think its not getting any spark, any ideas tomarrow ill get a spark plug but need to know what kind of plug is the right one ...
