I'm not sure if this is the answer, but it is something to look into. On an engine, having more backpressure (to a point) gives you more low end torque (which is why some modern motorcycles have a butterfly valve in the exhaust that closes at low rpms and opens at high rpms). While you were flushing ...

I've jump started mine off of my car a few times and have had no problems. However, you have to be slightly more careful when starting it. The car battery is huge compared to the Spree's battery, and it puts out a lot more amps. This will make it the Spree's starter turn over like a bat out of *. It ...

Holding High Speed
After using the information on this site to fix my spree, it averages about 30 mph on flat ground. I noticed though, that when I go down a hill, I can usually get past 35 and sometimes come close to 40 mph. On the flat ground after the hill, the moped will hold the speed until I stop, slow down ...

Four Stroking, I Think
My spree will go about 25 mph. When it gets to that speed, the engine stops sounding high pitched and makes a low pitched sound. The speed stays close to the same. While I am going, the bike occasionally has surges where it tries to accelerate, but starts making the lower sound again. Can anybody ...

Final reduction oil
Where do you add the oil to the final reduction, is it the same hole that you check the oil level with. Also, if it is the same hole, what is a good way to do it, the service manual isn't very specific.

Coil Problems
I have a 1985 Spree that went about 30 mph when I first got it. After about a week, it seemed like it was going slower and didn't have much acceleration. I took the carb apart and cleaned it. When I put it back together, the moped went even slower, leading me to believe that I have the air/fuel ...
