I can disconnect the yellow from the stator feed and run a wire from the yellow going to the headlight up to the positive terminal on the battery...
regulated 12v approx to the headlight ...

Help please, this one is driving me demented.
The scoot is blowing both front and rear lights when running within a few seconds of turning them on.
Work done so far....
Stator has been replaced, battery is charging fine with expected voltages.

Yep, running a battery but it doesn't charge properly. I know I've got some nasty electrics on the beast, but the main lights have always worked. It wasn't until the bulb bl;ew and came to replace it that I even realised it had a dimmer on it :shock: (yeah, I know... still pretty knew to scooters ...

Curly electrical one for you guys..
Front headlight bulb keeps blowing (both dimmed and full) on an 86 spree. replace the bulb and its gone within 5 seconds.

I know (or read on here) that when they were first released, Honda said that a Spree would do 100 miles to the gallon, right?
