spree has run great all summer - then he hits a car and now it cuts out at top end. Tank was flushed carb was cleaned pipe has been gutted all earlier this summer now after the crash it cuts out at top end?????

I can do the carb but seems electrical and I have checked all connections.

Forgot to mention that this scooter may be for sale as he is in trouble (with me)over this crash as it was his fault and he is under age.....so its my fault too.

crash now sputter

Long story short......my son crashed pretty hard into a car and now the 85 spree cuts out at top end. Acts like its looseing spark.

I checked the plug and ran without the exhaust but still the same. He broke off a turn signal but I also wired it back in just to test run it and no difference.

Just to verify that your exhaust is not pluged, take it loos from the head and run it a short distance to see if it runs better. Just an easy check.

bottom end is the same if not better. keep in mind the parts I took out of the pipe have been rattling around in there for a while, so i really dont think we changed anything......... might have a bit deeper sound but seem to run well.

so far the scooter is running great. top end on the speedo is about 29 for my 110 pound 13 year old.

well its gutted, all that came out was a round disk part with some holes in it. There is still a spark arester looking part that is where the large muffler part begins and I still have the small outlet pipe in place.

I took pics and will post later. We have not reinstalled the pipe yet to test the ...

I know its not the best thing to do but i think our exhaust is pretty much trashed on the inside anyway. Not that long ago the exhaust was plugged and we did the fire pit deal and it ran great again. Now the exhaust is blocked again (less than two tanks of gas). I think there is so much junk in ...

tryed to drill but there is nothing there I think it is broke loose as the pipe has some stuff shaking around in there. My drill bit was a "standard 3/8 so i would think that is plenty long enough.
