Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I'm back into the scooter modding scene. Just picked up another SB50 and wanted to know what motors are out there that is a direct drop in fitment or drop in with little modifications for fitment.

Are there other types of scooter brand engines that can drop in? If so what are they?

ok so those motors are exactly the same? because i saw on the new vt cycles website that they have a 62cc bore kit for the honda 50/50s sb50 motor and not for the elite e/es sb50 motor....my question is that if they`re exactly the same motor which i hope they are cuz supposedly they are both sb50 ...

ok so what is the difference from the 1987 elite 50/50s sb50 motor from the 1988-1990 e/es sb50 motor if they`re both sb50 motors?

ok so can i just use normal 10inch bike tubes on the scoot or do i really need to go to a dirtbike store n get those tubes? does it really matter and whats the difference?

ok guys so don't bash on me or anything but this may be a dumb question for people with better knowledge then me and then again may be good for people who are also knew and not so knowledgeable to scooters/mopeds.....

so how much do the 94+ sa50 motors usually run for? new and old if i can ask and wat sites if anyone knows sell these engines?

hey thanks a bunch dac...so yeah jst got back from work and yeah i checked under the scoot frame on the left and checked the sticker and its confirmed that it is in fact a sb50 :cry: i was so hoping for a sa.... so yeah now the research is to see wat little and cheap mods i can do to get from 35mph ...

ohh alrighty...thanks dac for your help....so which sa50 motor isn't restricted but i don't know yet if its an sa50 or sb50 cuz i'm still here at work....and to find out it should be located on the left side of the frame i believe? or is it on the engine itself? i believe its a sa50 but i may be ...

21 over here but a newb with scooters and mopeds in general and this is my first ever bought and first ever rebuild for a scooter lol.........

alright sweet....so the next question is does it matter if its a sa50 or sa50p for the 94-01 elite engines.........and why aren't sb50 elite engines moddable? and are there any links for people or people who've done this engine mod swap?

i really don't care about the cost becuase i've been saving like a mad man haha just so i can build the scooter....but what is stock speed on an sb50? well mine does go 35mph stock so i am guessing it is an sa50 motor but i would have to check when i go home...but as for droping in a 94-01 motor to ...

ok so here it goes...i bought this 89 elite and found out that some 89 engines can be modified to increase its cc, speed, and top end...and some engines can not be modified...so my question is wat 89 elite engines can b modified? and the engines that can be modified wat mods can u do to get it from ...

what can i do to tune a 89 honda elite beside switch to a dio motor and what would happen if i put a after market air filter?

if i do get that dio engine and since its not a direct bolt on what modification would have to be done? and has this been done before? is there any cutting and welding for this process or is it just swithcing the engine hanger to the 94 to hold that engine? and after the engine is on will there have ...
