Re: 85 Spree sputters after 2 times on street block
Well, all seems to have cleared itself out. I removed the petcock and filter screen again and used carburetor cleaner to clean it. Also cleaned my tank again. Put it all back together and it seems to be going smooth now. I guess a little piece of dirt can be pretty dirty to the fuel system! thanks ...

Re: 85 Spree sputters after 2 times on street block
Ok, I found in the manual that the spark plug gap should be .025, which it is. I did find that the spark plug was loose, which had me excited at first, but it did not make a difference once I tightened it.

Re: 85 Spree sputters after 2 times on street block
It is a new plug, but I did not re-gap it. Do you have an idea what the gap should be? I do have a gapping tool, just not sure what size to make it.

Re: 85 Spree sputters after 2 times on street block
Yes, I have replaced the vacuum and fuel lines too. Also a new spark plug. I tried going down the street with the gas off loose and off, and it did not make a difference. There seems to be plenty of fuel in the bowl because if I loosen the screw at the bottom, fuel comes out.

85 Spree sputters after 2 times on street block
I have just rebuilt my carburetor and replace the petcock on my Honda spree and now I can get it to run well, until I go up and down my street 3 times. It starts right up and I can go up to 30 MPH, up and down and back again on my street, then it starts to "sputter" and "conk out". If I let it set ...

Re: Rebuild carburator link
I searched, but the article I was talking about did not come up. I think it might have been from another site, but I was sent to it from here a while back, and I no longer have it.

Rebuild carburator link
I was on this forum a while back and someone had a link for how to rebuild the carburator on a 1996 Spree, complete with pictures. Step by step. It was real nice, but I cannot find it now. Can someone please resend me that link?
Thanks

I will try that this weekend. Unfortunately I have a busy schedule this week and will not be able to do it until then. I did see the pictured article that shows this. Hopefully it will do the trick. I did see another message about not pushing this tube out, because I might break it. I will try and ...

86 spree starts, idles but does not run
Hi,
Just aquired an hq50 spree and finally got it started, but stops running after you give it some throttle. I did take the carb apart and cleaned. Drain the tank as well beforehand, and then fill with new gas. I got it started, but it dies once I give it a little gas. I also unscrewed the little ...
