Trying to figure out did Honda use a 3 or 2 wire tank level sender on the 1985 model. Mine is 3 and my harness has 2 wires. Yes I read the how it works and also the service manual, but I could not find how it works if "in hand". My coil is good, but it does not seem to move the center needle or outer sleeve. I pushed in in with my finger and don't feel it move as I would expect. I tried various position as I power it on ...

Before I bought this fuel valve (see link below) I asked the seller if it would fit a NQ-50 and he said "YES". Note the seller says fits all years off the spree but it did not. The screw on nut is way small. He says he has a 15mm one, but I asked him to call. We have not ...

Thanks I just inspected it and don't see any sign of old gas build up and the vac ports does not leak.

The good news for me is I just found a new one on ebay and for $26 will put this behind me.

On my Black NQ-50 I found the valve did not shut off with vacuum so I'd say the only thing to stop fuel when off was the carb needle and float. Seems most stuff like this is not designed to take a part and fix. Any one see this before and know if it can be lived with or repaired?

Well I replaced it with one from ebay and all is good. Seller tossed it in the carb deal for $10 more.

The carb was a deal of a life time. Now both my NQ-50's are running perfect.

thnaks is the seal an o ring on the shaft that pulls out with pump in hand? Oil in crank case, does that cause her to smoke bad?

I have tw NQ-50 bikes and my older dependable one had a real bad smoke issue. Thick smoke running. I swapped pumps from my 2nd newer bike and now the older one is perfect. Now to the pump.

Turning the shaft with a drill I expected to see some flow yet none ...

I have three wires from my gauge, but one (the Blue/wht) has no place to connect. Any ideas?

Trying to get an idea what to look for.
NQ-50 will not take gas above like 1/2 throttle. I can ease it up to like 25mph but it gasps if a squeeze in anymore. Had the carb off 4 times now I know lol

Just took it for a test drive around 1 mile or so with like 6 starts from a stop. It will just do just 25mph. When I go WOT it just gasps like the fuel is GONE. That's like anything above 1/2 throttle tries to kill eng. Very Good idle and low RPM throttle. This bike only has 950 miles on it
