ya i mean, if you couldn't get them in, obviously you would have to machine it

so you figure out your top speed yet?

It seems as there may be some differences in shaft length for different model's. I definitely had to machine mine in order to get the case to close. It's not the washer spacing that prevented it in my case, it was the actual length of the shaft.

maybe that is why your other one is making funny ...

well i put the red plastic washer in between the countergear and the bottom end, and it seemed to have solved my * problem, but i think it still needs to have a thicker spacer, maybe 2 of those washers. It seems to be making some noise. I also think jb welding the two gears together would solve ...

Its way above the speedo, so I will have to have a friend pace me in a car or borrow a GPS from someone to find my max speed with the 7:1's. It has a 63cc polini kit in it I believe. I bought it with it already installed. I will let you know when I test it what the top speed is.

As far as the stock ...

So I got all the gears installed on both my bikes.

Stock nb50: 9:1 gears (shown in my write up above) are making a whining sound above 15mph. Is this normal with brand new gears until they break in???

I stopped to check it out, and everything seems to be spinning normally. I also did not gain ...

I just had to change my tire for the first time... Man i've mounted 42" boggers easier than that 13" tire. Goodluck!

13" tire on elite? Thought they were 10"?

Oh wait, tire, not wheel....my bad.

I may be wrong... It might be a 10" wheel. All I know is that its tiny. My offroad tires are ...

Hmm... I think rumor has it that Portland has more strip clubs per capita than any other city in the US. Least thats what I heard. But its not like they are everywhere and stand out. You get used to seeing them and you just don't realize they're there after a while.

OK, Im going to try and explain this is the best way possibly without causing confusion. So far as I understand there are 2 different methods to doing this.

Method 1: chevyguyjay's way. This is where you take a dio axle (Part 7), and press the new dio gears (whatever gear ratio you wish) pressed ...

Got the gear machined today. Im going down to my garage to put it all back together. I will take more pics for everyone. I also asked the machine shop to measure the amount I had cut, but they didnt do that for me. It's easy to explain the amount needed to be machined. I will follow up with a ...

I got all my parts in today to install the dio gears in my NB50. I took lots of pictures, and will post them in the next few days. My problem is that the counter gear is a few mm too long, therefore I need to machine it down. Did you have this same problem?

By too long, I mean the shaft is too ...

I got mine at home depot. Its not pure lye, but its still pretty strong. Especially when mixed with the acetone. Look in the chemical section towards the gardening side.

I used 3/4 lye 1/4 acetone mixture and plugged the bottom end. Fill the exuast up from the head side and let it sit for a few hours. Shake it around a bit every 30 mins or so. After, unplug it and drain/rinse with a water hose.

MAKE SURE to use chemical gloves. You don't want lye on any part of ...
