I have had the same thoughts, if you find a manual choke to pop on or devise something post it up, I will do the same, that is when I get everything else back together, as she's in pieces at the moment!

I finally had everything to get my spree running, got her to start, tuning the carb and clunk!!! Will a carb for an elite bolt up to a spree?

I have found new carbs on ebay, but only for elites...

The reason I ask is I am having difficulty with my bike running. Starts right up first thing in the morning, but does not idle for crap. If it dies the only way to restart is to manually choke it(fingers over air cleaner holes). Other than no idle, runs and drives fine.

I am hoping another carb ...

While on this subject, air screw in=richer mixture, out=leaner...?

Can this be checked with a dial caliper, the picture in the manual I have isnt too clear on where/what to measure to/from.

Back together, starts on the first crank, or at least it did yesterday, even after a 2 hour lecture, but it does not idle worth a darn. Also, How fast will the dark stuff gum my intake etc up? Should i run the half tank I put in through, or dump it asap...?

Speaking of oil, in the manual when they say oil should "flow" from the oil outlet line, what constitutes a "flow". Also, where is the oil control lever and how do I ensure it is in the fully open position?...Pics?

just re-cleaned the carb, how do i check float operation, carb isn't back on yet if that helps...

Yes, it is connected and tightened in, as well as being sealed all the way around...
