Back to My Clutch/Engine Noise

Hi All
I pulled the belt cover and the loud rattles seem to be coming from beneath the clutch cover. I can tell when I spin it by hand or step on the kick start. The belt seems fine.I took it for a ride and it drives fine its just loud. If you listen closely and distinguish between the engine and ...

Engine or Clutch Noise

Hi all
Just bought another scoot. Bike is complete all the electrics work, battery shot, wouldn't start even with a jump. When I opened the side cover I laughed . Had a nice petcock with on/off lever but the gas line went into the vacum port. Cleaned the carb good, replaced the petcock, set carb ...

broken manafold

Thanks all. The injury to the manafold was a little more extensive than I thought. Part of the manafold was broken exposing the threads where the bolt used to be. I got a thick manafold gasket, cleaned the manafolf and muffler flange real well, slid it over the sleeve, which was still there and used ...

I'm not sure if the sleeve is missing. I'm in work but I will check when I get home. I will try the automotive store suggestion because the bike runs great and I would like to go for the quick fix at least until winter sets in. Maybe during the winter months I can back the bolt out of the block ...

broken manafold bolt

I need some advice again. Short of welding the manafold is there a way of stopping a leak between the manafold and the muffler. When I picked up the Spree the back tire was flat and off. I noticed when I removed the muffler to reinstall the tire one of the manafold bolts were broken off. I tightened ...

I found that getting the carb tight enough is always a problemespecially the bplt and getting access to the nut on the inside ofside of the carb. Make sure that these two bolts are tight or you will never get the carb to tune. zeolig

Yes, it could have been an air/mix screw or idle adjustment spring which was stuck behind the carb and came loose when I took the choke of. Like I thought I saw a small spring but could not find it again. Anyway the bystator seems to be working just fine without the phantom spring.zeolig

Hi Clive
I would say it could be. I have seen no small springs in any of the bystator diagrams. Mabe it was just someones missing spring that fell behind the carb and dropped out when I removed the choke. Then maybe too I never saw it at all. I could never find it again. Anyway I have moved on to ...

Thanks guys, My headlight is not working either and fortunatley I have another harness with a regulator on it but I think I tried the switch already and the draw was still there? I'll try it again. I have a nice digital multimeter but admittedly I don"t know how to use it on 12volt systems. zeolig

Bad Rectifier or Short

Hi
Now that I got my scooter running great . Here is my second problem. I think I have a short . Maybe from reversed polarity. When my rectifier is plugged in I get a drain on the battery and the fuse gets burning hot until it melts. It doesn't blow it melts. There were a couple of green wires on ...
