Re: moped lights explode......rectifier???

I suspect the guy is quite savvy to electricals in our scooters.

Thanks Mousewheels, I don't claim to know everything, but I have been working on things with 2 wheels for a long time. I have been a member here for a long time too, but don't post much. It isn't rocket science and I try to help ...

Re: moped lights explode......rectifier???

What I said is not BS, I offered an opinion, Pancake808 you decide what to believe.

Do you have a battery installed?

From memory the NX does not have a regulator. Balanced systems do exist, and have for a long time. Before regulators were cheap and reliable enough to put on everything ...

Re: moped lights explode......rectifier???

If your signature is accurate you are running an 82 nx with af16 power?

I believe the nx has a "balanced" system, rectifying AC to DC to charge the battery but as long as all the lights are working there is no need for a regulator with the stock motor and alternator. The rectifier does not ...

Re: Modifying Exhaust Port

Do you mean if the opening of the ring is located were the port will be widened to?

What's the limit on how far you can go up? The exhaust port would have to be closed during combustion and I'm sure there's other concerns I don't know about

I guess that the end gap location would be a concern ...

Re: Any old honda cb750 owners?

You are right that is the first year of the DOHC and that design only lasted a few years. Not as much support as the SOHC bikes, but I am sure there is a forum dedicated to them somewhere.

When you start talking carb troubles, remember there are 4, so thats 4x the cost. These bikes have CV carbs ...

Re: Please post your Spree BBK setup

Bump, anyone else? so far I have two entries, my own and SPREEtown, I was hoping to have 10 or so different setups so people could compare and answer some of their own questions.

Please post your Spree BBK setup

After discussing it with the owner of the board, it is time to put together a spreadsheet listing what works with the BBK's and individual results. This spreadsheet would bring together a lot of the information on specific setups and would be posted to the wiki and hopefully answer a lot of ...

Re: Installing bore kit. Want to overview process

After boring it is good practice to chamfer the ports inside of the cylinder, usually at least the edges that are perpendicular to the piston's movement to prevent the rings from catching. If the ports have been widened much, it is even more important because there will be more area to snag. I use a ...

Re: Did ring replacement, but compression still low

The cylinder could be out of round or beyond wear specs, did you mic it before honing? how much material did you remove? A ring could have snagged a port and broke, or a ring could be sticking in the groove if not cleaned properly.

Put a little oil in the cyl and see if the numbers come up. Are you ...

Re: Drive Belt clarification

Stick with the OEM Honda belt, they are about $20 and will last a long time.

Vesrah lists their part # AN-1017 for the Spree, but I have yet to find a wholesale or retail outlet for those in the U.S. Dimensions are 628 x 11.4.

The AX24 is a close fit, but IMO the length, width and angle are not ...

Re: Michigan registration

You will need a bill of sale with vin on it or the registration which has the vin on it.

+1
Been through this a few times, like anything else at SOS it can differ depending on the day or who is helping you.

You have to prove ownership, i.e. a signed registration from the previous owner, a bill ...

Re: cyclepartsnation

Bad news indeed.

They have had my business for a while, prices can't be beat for OEM parts. They do have a used car lot, but the cycle dealership is big, sells Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Arctic Cat and Bombardier. While it is sad news, they are a big company and should be able to continue on.

Re: anthum for Michigan

"Anthum" for Michigan has kind of lost it's own topic.

I'm a Ford guy and live in Ford Country, Ranger with 197k, 86 SVO with 80k. Drove a Charger with a "fake" Hemi, fastest street legal car I've driven and got 20+mpg if you let it.

No doubt love the Honda's for 2 wheels, ATC's and TRX's, i.e ...
