Has anyone had any experience with the Gates brand belts? If not, what brand do most buy around here and why?

Is there anything wrong with the gates belts?

I put a new belt on my 1999 SA50. The belt was a Gates belt made in China 641x15.5x30, in about a month it had torn several cog off the belt. What would cause this and are the Gates belts made in the USA a better quality? Is it worth trying another Gates belt with Kevlar, or go back to the Bando.

It is a Cagiva engine and although it is probably quick to a point, it would not be fast compared to the bike the engine came out of. The wheelbase is too short, so it is really wheelie prone. In the town I live in the police will write you up for an expansion chamber on your moped. If you ride a moped, you do not have to have a tag on it and supposedly an expansion chamber brings the power level up to the point that you must have a tag on it. Go figure?

I would think that a larger than 50cc scooter is in order for two up. I weigh 230 and my Elite S runs alot better with a lighter person on it. If he removes the restrictor from the carb on the Zumma, he will run away and hide from you.

Unfortunately, if you ride you will wreck at some time. She needs to dress better though, especially when you are just starting out. Put her back on the horse and tell her to ride baby ride!

How do you set the torque for the nut with an impact wrench. It needs to be set at 43flb's for the newer Elites.
