Re: Only starts with starting fluid

Re: 86 spree will die if throttle isn't constantly being revved?
Well, I got some starter fluid and sprayed some in and bingo!...spree starts but wants to lurch forward violently once put off stand. Did I not clean the carb correctly when dealing with the pilot jet? I'm very new to this and that is a strong possibility. Could the hose leak cause something such as ...

Re: 86 spree will die if throttle isn't constantly being revved?
Found the culprit. The hose going to the larger of the two outlets on the petcock has a crack. This should be the problem then eh? A small crack would really lose all that vaccum power?

Re: 86 spree will die if throttle isn't constantly being revved?
So I finally got some time to get to work on the carb and.......the thing is loosely hanging onto the two large bolts with a large gap resulting. Could this have been my problem because the carb seems pretty clean to me...should I clean it anyway now its off. But was that the poblem...or the needle ...

Im having alot of trouble getting the flywheel off my 84 spree. I've tried chevyguy's advice in the tech docs to no avail. Are there any other techniques that might work? And what is a crowsfoot?(claw end of hammer?) Thanks

Agreed, those pieces must come out, but I am having trouble dissembling the engine. Trouble spot is where the cooling fan is screwed on to and makes the piston go up and down when turned(cant get it off). There seems to be a notch for a special tool to use once the nut is off. As for the 44mm kit ...
