Thanks for the help. I miss quoted myself. I was looking at DGY and it showed two different float valves. I see Babbits only has one. I will try your test tomorrow when I pull the carb again. Thanks again.
Does anyone know or think this might be my bogging problem? Could it be belt slip or clutch ...

need help with carb
I think I have a float valve malf going on. The problem is that the bowl over fills and is leaking out the top/gasket. I am going to order a new one but Babbits shows two different float valves. How do I find out which one to order? I have a part number off the carb which is 29HAYL7. It is off a ...

Well the plug I took out was light brown and wet. I put it in when I bought the spree three weeks ago. I did run it before the carb rebuild, so I don't know if it was lean or rich prior to carb rebuild. The first plug I pulled was dark brown with crusting on it. I put a new plug in after the rebuild ...

Carb problems
86 NQ 50 spree.
Just rebuilt the carb for the third time. Problem is take off. At idle runs fine. Take off bogs and slowly builds speed with the occ bucking. At about 5 mph smooths out and runs like a top. If you do not come to a complete stop, no bogging and smooth through out. Any help to solve ...

Still have to get the turn signals working on one of them but I think I have that problem solved... No flasher relay. I bought a third for ...

Have a 86 spree NQ50. First problem was it just died after running for about 1/2 hour. Found out that I sucked a junk air filter through the system. 1 Hour of carb cleaning(thanks to old posts on cleaning) new plug, filter and it runs great. Now the problem is that with my fat butt on it (220 lbs ...

Quick question.... What plug should be used in a 86 NQ50. The manual I have states it is a BPR4HSA. I found BPR4HS and have read in the forum that people are using BPR6HSA. What is the difference? what does the a at the end mean??? The parts store said there is no such plug BPR4HSA.. Anyhelp?

He also told me that he had to spray it with starter fluid to get to start. When I got it home I never had to use fluid. A few twists of the throttle, some kicks (no battery, on order) and it fired right up. I really think my problem is it flooded out due to gas, old plug, old filter, and a dirty ...

To tell you the truth, I bought it off a police officer that told me he had it overhauled about two to three years ago. He said it was only ridden in the summer and it was at his cabin on a lake(I picked it up at the lake). I ordered the stuff to do a tune up to it, but since it seemed to be running ...

Hello all,

petcock questions
Just picked up a third 86 spree. This one is not running and I know it has a bad fuel tanh/petcock/carb needs cleaning. My question is that the two lines coming off the petcock have garbage all over them. One of the lines go to what I would call the intake. The other line is broken off whatever it ...

bogging out
Just picked up a 86 spree. runs fine except when taking off or at a rolling stop. It drags at first take off then if you don't come to a complete stop it will bog for the first 100 feet then kick in. Any ideas of the problem beside cleaning the carb? Could it be the air filter? have new filter on ...
