Parts came in today in less than a week!!! The guys over at http://www.discounthondaparts.com are awesome! I highly suggest taking a look there especially if you're on the east coast, they are located in Riverhead, NY (long island).

Re: Just got a 1987 Spree (Good Condition)

Welcome from one noob to another! A few things off the top of my head although there is plenty of documentation here if you use the search function...

Clean carb, clean old gas out (probably some varnish in there), clean out old oil, clean out petcock (fuel valve), check tires for dry rot and the ...

In the mean time I'm cleaning everything and parts should be here by the end of the week. I'm hoping in two weeks I'll have two fully running Sprees! Good luck with ...

Re: Spark plug question

Is running the 6 WOT for extended time periods really going to mess things up & if it does why/what will get messed up? What about the Autolite 4123 from autozone that is listed here on the forum as a replacement...anyone know the temp range on that plug?

Re: Drive belt question

Honda part number 23100-GK8-870 sometimes 23100-GK8-8700 it is the same belt...Honda OEM is measured in mm but some people have posted one here about switching to a 1/2 inch top width/24" v cog belt but I haven't seen any reports about how that worked for those people. I got a brand new one on ebay ...

Re: yikes...metal pieces in oil pump hole

Going to replace both bearings, rings and was considering getting a couple of new pistons although I don't think I need them (everything looks pretty good/in spec in there). While I'm ordering I'm just going to get 2 of everything, one set for each Spree I'm reviving. When looking online at an OEM ...

Re: yikes

That is what I think too...how big of a mess should I expect when I go in there, what else could have been screwed up and what is the best way to go about fixing it? I noticed in one of you other posts you joked about video taping yourself rebuilding an engine in 20 min...I'm sure I would find that ...

yikes...metal pieces in oil pump hole

Hey everyone...so I finally got Spree #1 to idle and I thought I'd be able to jump over to Spree #2 and start working but then it stopped. I checked to make sure gas and oil were flowing. Check and check. Try to start it again turns and turns and turns and stops like something is stuck. Next try I ...

Spree #1 in a two Spree series

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/2012/0531091754a.jpg

Started the rebuild projects today! This is the First of two 1986 Sprees that had been sitting for 10 years that my Uncle and I are rebuilding. Got it fired up and it was * gas out of the overflow on the carb while running. When it is not ...

Re: Search not working ?

I got nervous too...I'm just starting to revive 2 sprees and thought the message board didn't exist any more! I would've been lost to say the least haha. I bookmarked some pages too and if you switch the "phpBB2" to "phpBB3" in the address on your bookmarked pages it will take you to the same post ...

Total Noob w/ some questions (belt and oil)

Hey everyone. I just acquired two 1986 Honda Sprees from my brother in law that have been sitting for 10 years. I've read some threads on getting in back running and on top of the carb cleaning, fuel tank cleaning/rebuild, line changes (oil and gas), new spark plug, new battery, a tablespoon of oil ...
